Liquor Tax Duplicates, 1883 - 1887, 1896 - 1901

These volumes contain the treasurer's duplicate of assessments upon the business of trafficking in intoxicating liquors. Information includes: name of persons engaged in the traffic, description of premises whereon the assessment is a lien, name of owner or owners of premises, kind of traffic engaged in (saloons), time and date of assessment, increased assessment, total assessment, penalty, date when paid, and by whom paid. Loose document consists of a receipt from the county treasurer. Volume 1896-1901 also includes a record of cigarette licenses.
