Scope and Contents
The records of Challenge 95 fall into four series: (I) Administrative Records; (II) Taskforce; (III) Publicity’ and (IV) Audio/Visual.
Series I consists of the records of the Challenge 95 administrative bodies: correspondence, minutes, reports, and other documentation of two executive bodies that governed Challenge ’95, the earlier Steering Committee and the later which served from the fall of 1989 to the fall of 1990 are placed with those of the later Leadership network to provide a complete administrative set of records. Of particular note are surveys conducted at two organizational retreats, participants held of the region and its development. The administrative records cover the entire period of the forum from 1989 to 1994.
Series II contains the records of the nine taskforces created by Challenge 95 and are naturally separated into subseries by taskforces. The taskforces are arranges: Enhancement, Education, Human Relations/Needs, Technology/Innovation, Regional Cooperation, and Legislative. The taskforce records contain correspondence, minutes, budgets, reports and other documentation related to the subject areas. The minutes in these subseries contain information gathered from a series of bimonthly meetings that each taskforce held at different locations throughout the region in order to attract a variety of area citizens. These subseries also contain reports generated by the taskforces on issues and projects on the regional level from 1989 to 1992.
Series III contains all material dealing with the publicity of Challenge ’95. This series holds newsletters, news clippings, press releases and a large amount of photographic materials from 1989 to 1993. The photographic material consists of pictures from several large Challenge ’95 meetings and other events.
Series IV contains all of the audio and video material generated by challenge ’95. These records consist of video tapes of meetings and conferences and audio tapes of meetings.

Conditions Governing Access
There are no restrictions on accessing material in this collection. However, please note that audio and video material (28 audio cassettes, 14 video cassettes) cannot be played in the reading room due to preservation concerns. A digital reference copy, subject to copyright restrictions, can be made for access at the cost of the patron, with at least two weeks advance notice.
