Scope and Contents From the File: These pamphlets deal with the United Brethren in Christ controversy of 1889-1896. Schism developed from a prohibition of membership in secret societies; the policy had long been a feature of the church. A liberal reform element sought to modify this ban. A conservative, or Radical, element, led by Milton Wright, fought the attempted changes.
