This collection contains photographs (originals and reproductions/photocopies) depicting Brookville, Arlington, and downtown Dayton, Ohio, most dating around 1914, though some are as late as 1960. Many of the photographs are labeled and identified, and the primary subjects are Elden Hemp and Henry Busch.

Biographical / Historical

Henry Busch (born 1861) was the grandfather of the donor Zaida Hemp Morgan. Henry Busch operated a general store in Arlington (near Brookville), which is depicted in at least one of the photographs. The store sold groceries, clothing, and other necessities and was operated by Busch from 1892 to 1920, when he sold it to Charles Freeze.
