Esplanade Hotel Records (SC-29)

 Collection
Identifier: SC-29

Scope and Contents

The collection contains one handwritten volume recording the meetings of the owners of the Esplanade Hotel Company of Springfield, Ohio, from May 1912 to November 1915. These include the articles of incorporation for the company, information about stocks and stockholders, and minutes for meetings of shareholders and of the board of directors. Most of the meetings appear to have taken place in Franklin County. The volume also includes information about the directorship of the company. James W. Linton served as one of the company’s early directors, with E. B. Weinbrecht being nominated as his successor. Though the majority of the notebook is handwritten, it also contains several letters and memos that were pasted in. Also present are stamps from some of the records being notarized.
