In 1929, Parker School became the location of the cooperative school. John H. Patterson Cooperative High School, later known as the John H. Patterson Career Center or simply “Patterson Co-Op,” opened in 1952 at 118 East First Street in the heart of downtown Dayton. Patterson Career Center closed in 2009, and the Ponitz Career Technology Center now serves vocational students of the Dayton Public Schools.
