Scope and Contents

The Slideshows and Slides subseries consists primarily 35mm slides that were removed from slide carousels. The folder titles reflect information recorded on the slide carousel box. This series also includes campaign slideshows on microfilm reels. Of particular note are a significant number of slides depicting damage in Xenia and Greene County from the April 3, 1974, tornado.

The majority of the materials are in English; however, at least one item includes Spanish. The presence of other languages are indicated at the folder or item level.

Conditions Governing Access

There are no donor-imposed restrictions on accessing material in this collection; however, this collection is subject to restrictions on accessing original audio/visual and electronic record formats due to preservation concerns.

Due to preservation concerns, original audio and video materials cannot be played in the reading room. Patrons may have access to reference copies. Items without reference copies can be digitized at the request of a patron for the cost of creating a digital copy. Please contact us at least two weeks in advance if you would like to request an audio or video reference copy. Use of digitized content is subject to conditions governing use.

Some analog audiovisual materials, already restricted for the preservation reasons stated above, are also stored off-site.

All electronic records listed in this finding aid are processed and available; however, researchers are requested to contact us at least two days in advance when requesting electronic records.
