Scope and Content
The Warren Joy Collection is about Warren Joy's military service, with the bulk of the collection consisting of photographs. The photographs include family, school, and those taken while he was in the service. The collection includes information on his military service including deployment to Greenland. The collection also consists of correspondence, scrapbooks, maps, military documents, and newspaper clippings.
Series I, Personal Information, contains correspondence, military documents, photographs and their negatives, newspaper clippings, magazine articles, maps, and travel brochures such as travel brochures of Iceland. Military documents pertain to Westover Air Reserve Base. Newspaper clippings pertain to Keesler Air Force Base. The date span is from 1945 to 1998.
Series II, Scrapbooks, contains deployment information, photographs with their descriptions taken at bases in Greenland, Massachusetts, and Mississippi. The scrapbooks also contain newspaper clippings, and business cards. Included in the photographs are photographs of aircraft such as the P-6, P-7, and P-9 aircraft. This series is dated 1945-1946.
