Wright Family Photograph Album, circa 1880

Scope and Contents

The album was begun circa 1880. It includes tintypes, cabinet cards and cartes des visites of Wright family members and friends. Portraits include John Gottleib Koerner; Catherine Koerner; Bishop Milton Wright; Susan Koerner Wright; Katharine Wright aged about 18; Wilbur Wright aged about 13 and at age17; Reuchlin and Lulu Billheimer Wright; their first daughter, Catharine Louise Wright as an infant and at age 4; Katharine Wright aged about 6; Orville Wright as an infant and aged about 10; Viola Oberlender; Ella Maude Nevertell; Pepka Elkader; E.E. Esterley; Emma Teller Dennis; Joseph Boyd; Dr. Lewis Davis; the Ten Dayton Boys; John Feight; Charles and Sarah Wright Harris; Wilbur Landis; William and Lottie Andrews; Irvin Koogle; Frank Gilbert; and M.L. Rinehart. The majority of the photographs are in excellent condition however the album itself is in fragile condition.

Restrictions on Access

Due to preservation concerns, original audio and video recordings in the collection cannot be played in the reading room. Patrons may have access to reference copies. Original brown leather photograph album with gold embossed edges, about 9 by 12 inches, designed to hold cabinet card and carte de visite photographs.
