Scope and Content
The Harvey Dressler Collection is about the Dressler family, predominantly about Florence Bremberger Dressler. The collection consists of correspondence, photographs, books and yearbooks, maps, and newspaper clippings of Harvey Dressler, Florence Bremberger Dressler, and Mary Dressler Stansell. Within each series, the collection is ordered chronologically.
Series I, Personal Information, contains correspondence, educational documents, photographs, financial and legal documents, newspaper clippings, and travel documents such as correspondence that Harvey Dressler sent to his wife Florence. Legal documents include property records of the Dressler family. In addition there are newspaper clippings of Mary Dressler Stansell's wedding announcements and her visit to a relative. Travel documents record Harvey Dressler's travels through France and Germany. The date span is from 1896 to 1966.
Series II, Books and Yearbooks, contains books, scrapbooks, and yearbooks such as the With the Ohio 308th Engineers From Ohio to the Rhine and Back and U.S. Official Pictures of the World War. The date span is from 1909 to 1923.
Series III, Maps, contains travel maps that Harvey Dressler collected while he travelled through France and Germany after World War I. The maps are in French and German and are dated from May to June 1919.
