Note on back from Edward Hauck to his wife Nellie: “Nell.
“This picture was drawn by one of the members of our squad. This is exactly the way our dugout looked. That’s me on guard looking for Germans. 3 other fellows are inside sleeping. A good way to spend Christmas day. I ate G.I. cheese and crackers.
