Obituary of Harrison "Bud" Golem

USAF CMSgt. (ret.) Harrison D. Golem, age 90 of Troy, passed away Sunday July 9, 2017. He was born September 1, 1926 in, the son of the late Robert and Ruth Golem. Harrison served his country during WWII, Korea,and Vietnam in the United States Air Force, retiring at the rank of CMSgt., and followed with employment in civil service, retiring after 45 years of combined federal service. He was a member of the VFW and enjoyed aviation art. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia; and sister, Sue Golem. Survivors include two sons, Gregg (Paula) Golem of Thousand Oaks, CA and Jim Golem (Gineen Pitstick) of Centerville; four grandchildren, Daniel H. Golem, Adam (Christina) Golem, Devon (Alexander) Golem, and Megan A. Golem; nephew, Danny Golem; and niece, Sharie Field, and special friend, Mary DeWitt.

This collection consists of three photos; two are reprints of Doolittle's Raiders taking off from the deck of the aircraft carrier, USS Hornet (CV-8). The other, larger, photo is a copy of Bud Golem's painting Memories which depicts the inside cockpit of a Doolittle Raider on takeoff.
