Abstract

The collection consists primarily of color slides depicting aircraft, mostly civilian planes at air fields throughout the Miami Valley, with the bulk dating from 1959 to 1988. The slides were in most cases created, and in some cases collected, by Roger Miller, an aviation enthusiast and local historian from Middletown, Ohio.

Collection includes scrapbooks, correspondence and photographs of a well-known African-American civil rights activist in Dayton.

Scope and Contents

This collection consists of an eclectic assortment of Civil War documents donated to the Montgomery County Historical Society by numerous individuals. Included are regimental rolls, morning reports, clippings, reunion notices, requisitions, and correspondence from the 1st, 2nd, and 93rd Regiments of the Ohio Volunteer Infantry (OVI).

Abstract

Founded in 1948, the Montgomery County Medical Society Alliance is an organization of physician’s spouses who raise awareness and provide education on medical topics. The collection includes material on a variety of their activities, including meetings, community education, social events, and scholarship fundraisers for local medical students.

The collection includes primarily interior and exterior photographs of both the Third Street jail and the newer Second Street jail, as well as correspondence with FBI regarding very specific cases. The collection does not include a comprehensive listing of case files, nor does it include the official records of the department.
