The Miles S. Kuhns Papers consist mainly of correspondence related to Kuhns' political career. It contains many lobbying letters from citizens and organizations. Almost half of the collection relates to Kuhns' work with the Ohio Revolutionary War Memorial Commission. A third section consists of personal correspondence and ephemera Kuhns received throughout his career.

Abstract Born April 10, 1806 in Virginia, Derostus Ladley was a minister and prominent member of the Christian Connection / Connexion (also called the Christian Church). From 1838-1852, the Ladley family moved around Ohio as he preached and founded churches. In 1852, the family settled in Yellow Springs, Ohio where he founded the First Christian Church, and the Second Christian Church. He was also involved in the founding of Antioch College. Oscar D. Ladley Papers

Abstract

Oscar D. Ladley was a career army officer who fought in the Civil War with Company G, 75th Regiment of the Ohio Volunteer Infantry. He was later assigned to Fort Sully in the Dakota Territories. His papers consist primarily of letters written to his mother and sisters in Yellow Springs, Ohio, telling of his Civil Was experiences, and later, his life as a frontier army officer. Also included are some Civil War military records.
