Abstract

Warren Joy was an engineer with General Electric in Cincinnati, Ohio, for 35 years and a veteran of World War II. His collection consists of correspondence, certificates, photographs, maps, scrapbooks, and other documents.

Scope and Contents Papers consist of mainly correspondence from Katharine Wright (1874-1929) to her future husband, Henry J. Haskell. Letters cover a variety of personal matters including the opposition to her impending marriage by her brother, Orville Wright. Other subjects discussed include Oberlin College, the Kansas City Star, the Wright patent challenge, and Katharine's ideas about women's rights. Scope and Contents

The microfilm contains clippings dating 1917-1977, which follow Paul Katz's musical career as a performer and composer, as well as the founder and Musical Director of the Dayton Philharmonic Orchestra.

Abstract

The collection consists of materials relating to Katz's long career as a musician, composer, teacher, and conductor. Katz organized the Dayton Philharmonic Orchestra in 1933 and held the post of Musical Director until he retired in 1975. Papers in this collection include personal correspondence, conductor scores, photographs, clippings, speeches, and articles by Katz. Also included are audio recordings of performances and interviews by Dr. Katz and his wife Phyllis Katz.
