Abstract

The records of the Visiting Nurses’ Association of Dayton, Ohio, date from 1898 through 1970. The collection includes materials from the original organization, The Fruit and Flower Mission, as well as the material pertaining to the Visiting Nurses’ Association under the city of Dayton’s Public Health Services. Materials consist of board minutes, correspondence, pamphlets, newspaper clippings and photographs.

This scrapbook contains news clippings of aircraft and aviation events around the Miami Valley and the nation in the World War II era. Many of the clippings come from Dayton’s newspapers at the time, the Journal, the Herald, and the Daily News. Some clippings were taken from magazines. The creator of the scrapbook is unknown.

The Centerville Garden Club, located near Dayton, Ohio, was established in 1930. The records consist almost entirely of scrapbooks with both internal and external material on the club. The collection consists of scrapbooks, school newspapers, and materials related to the graduating class of 1945 from Fairview High School in Dayton, Ohio. Fairview High School was built in 1929 and later became a middle school and elementary school before it was eventually demolished in 2010. The Collection also includes information on class reunions.

Dayton Alpha Phi Alumnae Collection

Abstract The Alpha Phi sorority was first created at Syracuse University on October 10, 1872, to provide a "tie which unites, a circle of friends" for women young and old all around the world. The Dayton Alumnae Chapter was officially founded on January 4, 1956. The chapter exists to this day as a form of contact for the alumnae in the Dayton area.
