Abstract

The Clayton J. Brukner Papers document the operation of an airplane manufacturing company, which was located in Troy, during the first half of the 20th century. The Collection consists of business records of the Waco Aircraft Company which was owned by Brukner, and various printed materials relating to aviation, books, journals, yearbooks, etc.

The records consist of files of the Burns-Jackson Corporation, and include the articles of incorporation, meeting minutes, correspondence, clippings, publications, and working papers of a group formed in 1965 to restore and preserve the Oregon District/Burns-Jackson area of Dayton, Ohio.

This collection contains the day-to-day dealings of the Burroughs Nature Study Club. The Burroughs Nature Study Club is a women’s social club created in 1915 in Centerville, Ohio through the shared interest of its members in John Burroughs’ nature books. This collection spans from 1986 to 2014 with the bulk dates from 2003 to 2014. The records of the Burroughs Nature Study Club include by-laws, meeting minutes, budgets, membership reports, correspondences, and club memorabilia.

Scope and Contents The Michael Caporale Photograph Collection consists of 356 photographs collected by Michael Caporale. The collection is close in provenance to MS 271, the Peerless Mayfield Collection. Many of the images in both collections are similar subjects and clearly come from the same sources. A life-long resident of Yellow Springs, Ohio, Carr attended Antioch College, then worked in his father's nursery business which he eventually took over in the 1920s. The bulk of his papers date from 1888 to 1906 and consist of correspondence from various family members and women friends.
