Scope and Contents

Dr. Cline graduated from Indiana University School of Medicine in 1921. He began practice in Dayton, Ohio, in 1923 and specialized in gynecology. He was a commissioned medical officer for the federal government and worked for a time in Budapest, Hungary. The collection contains a portfolio of case studies and surgery performed in Europe, possibly for board certification.

Scope and Contents The diary, kept by Sergeant Jay H. Crawford, details a World War I soldier’s experience in 1918. It starts in Houston in May 1918, describing Crawford’s journey to the east coast, and later to France. The diary discusses his experiences in France, including describing airplanes and dogfights in May and June, and describing the aftermath of the Battle of Verdun. The Dr. Richard A. DeWall Papers contain material from Dr. DeWall’s lengthy career. Within the collection there are copies of publications, patent documentation, and presentation slides created by Dr. DeWall. The material mostly relates to Dr. DeWall’s invention of the bubble oxygenator. However, there are some materials from his efforts to create a medical school at Wright State University.

Dr. Charles F. Ginn, a homeopathic physician and surgeon, was born in 1849. He graduated from the Cleveland Homeopathic Medical College in 1884 and established an office in Miamisburg, Ohio. His papers consist of ledgers that record his practice from 1885 to 1890.
